As I say in many auctions, this amazing locket belonged to my grandmother and was passed down to my mother and then to me. I am selling this and many items because my husband and I are very low on funds. Grandmother lived in Manhattan and loved the NYC jewelry district. She knew jewelry and she knew bargains. She wrote everything down in pencil! if you can believe. She dated this 1900 - 1910. Lockets in this condition that hold SIX pictures are rare. This is 14 K gold (and for those searching I'll add the words 14 carat gold). The picture on the back shows a scratch that is not t, plus reflection. The back shows very little age wear. We all took great care of our jewelry. This measures exactly 15/16ths of an inch (nearly an inch) in length not including the loop, 3/4 of an inch in width.
