Beautiful intaglio ring purchased from an antiques stall along the famous Portobello Road in London. I am not certain of the age, but it could be from the Victorian era, the age of the Roman empire, or another time... I don't know how to tell. I wear a US size 7.5 ring and it's too small for my ring finger... probably a size 6 if I had to guess, but I'm not really sure. The intaglio is a lovely shade of purple which darkens against your skin (please see pictures). It has a raised relief of a head profile with curly hair and necklace. I believe the setting is called a collector's mount. The image is of lady with curly hair wearing a necklace. The setting appears to be gold plate - it's worn off in some section (please see pictures). There is a small piece missing in the top left portion of the oval (please see pictures). I love this ring, it's beautiful, it's just too small for me. Thanks for looking and . Apologies, but no returns.
