Charming Antique Victorian Sterling Silver Bird (HERON) Brooch c.1880's A charming antique Sterling Silver Mourning or Memorial Brooch with intricate etched details. It has a central round flat surface with an etched bird (likely a heron, see info below) with tiny leaf designs surrounding him. The elaborate edge details are equally intricate. One ring resembles a minute Fleur de Lys pattern. At one time this piece may have been a mourning brooch, as t appears to be a rear concave section which likely held a hair memento at one time. In good overall condition. It has a replacement tube-hinge c-clasp and extended pin stem, in working order. The piece likely dates to about 1880 It does test as Sterling Silver, though it is not hallmarked. Measures 1.25" in diameter.
