This brooch is approx 6.5 cm x 5.5cm at its widest. I think it is some type of pottery and the number 173 is incised into the back. The surrounding metal is gold coloured with a claw fixing for the picture. Complete with box marked Edwin Frost Jeweller & Valuer, 29 Lincoln Avenue Plymouth. (Telegrams - Presents Plymouth) 'phone Plymouth 1354. The outside of the box is showing signs of age with some colour missing. The picture part of the brooch is in excellent condition but the metal, although wavy, seems to have a couple of extra bends added. Not bad for its age though.
