A Victorian CDV photograph of Camillo Benso, Count Cavour (1810-1861) a leading figure in the movement for a united Italy. He died 3 months after taking office as the first Prime Minister in a united Italy. Photo by London Steroscopic Co. Provenance . T his photo is from a photo album which I date to about the 1860s though many of the photos were obviously taken much earlier. It contains c 180 CDV's (all c 3.5" - 4" x 2.5") and a difficult to read contemporary checklist identifying each photo. Most photos have been trimmed at the corners, presumably to allow easier filing. Most appear never to have been disturbed so other than the trimming they are in Very good condition unless otherwise stated. Shipping. Photos will be shipped in new hard backed envelopes with additional packing. Multiple purchases will be consolidated into one parcel to economise on postage as one p&p charge will cover up to c 10 photos. Any parcel value over 40.00 will be sent by UK Special Delivery or International Signed For.
