An excellent, original albumen, Carte de Visite photograph of a young woman with a stereoscopic viewer, probably taken in the 1860s. The image shows her standing by chair, with a Murray and Heath type viewer on the table beside her. The image has good strength and is sharp, with good contrast and detail. It has some slight spotting at the top left of the photo, which does not detract from the image. It is mounted on thin contemporary card, which is very clean, but there is a slight damage to the top edge. The sitter is unnamed, but the photographer was H Sampson, Southport, England. A highly collectable Victorian photograph. THERE IS NO RESERVE Overall Size of mount approx 2.5x4ins (5.5x9cms) Please ask if you need more information on this image. Description guaranteed, refund privileges available (subject to conditions). UK bidders are requested to pay in £sterling at the current exchange rate, which will be advised. Buyer pays actual shipping costs (max excluding insurance to UK $1, EU $2, worldwide $3). No tax or duty is payable by US or EU buyers Please see Opticook and Glenlady for our auction listings.
