Here we have a Victorian Vesta peg lamp shade. The shade is cased with cranberry / rose coloured glass, this starts at the frill and fades as it goes down the shade to a light pink. The shade is moulded with a swirled ribbing, larger ribs have stylised foliage mouldings. The shade features in a late Victorian 'Falk, Stadelmann & Cº, Veritas Lampworks' catalogue, shown on peg-lamps and also those Meissen/Dresden/Sitzendorf type figural lamps, I show scans from this catalogue for illustration purposes. Condition, shade unfortunately has a piece missing on the fitting rim around 1 1/8" long, a shallow flake and two tiny nibbles on the frill, the piece missing on the rim is almost completely hidden when placed in the shade ring of a 6''' Kosmos burner, I show a picture with the shade lifted showing the damage to the rim and sat in the ring with damage almost invisible, once placed you would not notice the frill nibbles until the shade is scrutinised as they do not stand out, far too nice to throw away .
