This beautiful locket is a genuine 19th century item. It was very fashionable during the later years of the reign of Victoria to wear locks of hair to remember loved ones who were absent or who had passed away. This locket contains a lock of hair, the history is very interesting but equally the locket could be used as a photograph locket or to contain some other precious momento. The locket measures 4.6 cm by 2.4 cm and is 4 mm deep. It is marked as can be seen as 9 ct gold, Birmingham and the maker H.M; the date mark has been rubbed away through wear, it is probably about 1890. I shall include the jewelers box in the sale, it is a genuine old one and is in good condition. There is a dint to the reverse as can be seen, this is not too bad and of course does not even show from the front. This is a beautiful locket in very good condition. I am selling any interesting pieces of jewelry this week so please take a look. I shall answer any question as quickly as possible. Thanks for looking.
