Up for auction is an antique Turn-of-the-Century brooch or pendant. It is an open weave knot made of alternated loops...1/2 polished smooth and the other half deeply engraved with a foliate like and/or paisley-ed design with an approximately 2mm round cut sparkly diamond held in a belcher like mounting with 6 claw prongs at center. It is a deep yellow gold color that looks to be of a a higher karat than its hallmarking: 14K. It weighs 3.9g on a digital scale prior to packing and measures 1" in diameter x 7/16" thick (front to back which includes the reverse side hardware consisting of a flattened wire bail, an inside diameter of 3.5+mm to thread a chain through for wearing as pendant necklace, and a near straight and sharp hinged pin stem and flat tab c-clasp w it is hallmarked (w the hallmark is) all in good working order. Very pretty pin / pendant from the collection of a local estate liquidator being offered in a no reserve auction format. Based solely on the style and construction I would guess it no later than 1910 and probably earlier. Please refer to photos for your take on age, design, marking and condition. I find it in nice antique condition as is, uncleaned, and ready for wear.
