Victorian lava Cameo brooch gold frame Greek God Apollo This Victorian hand carved Lava Cameo is mounted in a gold frame. I think the chap depicted is the Greek god Apollo due to him wearing a Laurel leaf crown. Apollo was the God of life & health. T are makers marks on the frame but I cannot read them clearly ~ possibly the letters N G separated by a picture of a head? Age: Mid 1800s Approx Size: 2 x 1½ inches Approx Weight: 20 grams Country of origin The cameo would have been carved in Italy Condition: Excellent condition. No damage of any kind A note about my jewellery: I sell only genuine Antique & Vintage items which mostly date from 1880 to 1980.
