MAMMOTH IVORY: It has been found in Europe, North America and Asia since the end of the last ice age. It has also been found in parts of Alaska and the Yukon in Canada. Since international trade in elephant ivory closed down, trade in mammoth ivory has emerged as the only alternative that is accepted by the International Market. All our mammoth ivory has been legally acquired and we do ad to all international laws with regard to the ivory trade. We are pleased to offer these lovely earrings! Wonderful Victorian Mammoth Ivory carved Bird design earrings. They measure 2 5/8" long with the wire, just the earring is 1 5/8" long x 1 1/8" wide x 3/8"deep and weigh 10.5grs. You will see in the photos, each bird faces in the opposite direction, so you can wear them facing in or out, it's your choice. They are encircled in a twisted vine, and perched on a branch. T is a flower at the top and bottom of the vine. Impressive, but light to wear, these marvelous earrings are sure to be an asset to your collection.
