This is an elegant Silver Plated... Covered Pickle Coaster or Caster... with a stunning Vaseline Glass Insert... in the "Herring Bone" pattern... and with a super nice pair of Pickle Tongs. It stands a bit over 10 ½ inches tall... and just about 5 inches wide across the base. The Silver Plated Frame shows some tarnish... but other than that... it appears to be in excellent condition. The Glass Insert is Vaseline... with an Opalescent Herring Bone pattern in it... and I might add that this insert is super Fluorescent under the Black Light. This Insert stands almost 5 inches tall... 3 ¼ inches across the hand ground top... and also appears to be in perfect condition. The Pickle Tongs are about 6 ¼ inches long... and are meant to hang from the convenient hook provided on the side of the frame. These Tongs are also in excellent condition with just a light touch of tarnish to add patina. But for those folks of "means"... this delightful combination of metal and glass... was just one more display of wealth... to be savored... while read more
