The beauty of these portrait brooches always amazes me. I have two to list this week from the same estate--makes me wonder if the parents had two daughters as the portraits are both of young ladies that almost look like sisters. This one features a young girl with a blue scarf around her hair that appears to be blowing in the wind. She's looking straight ahead, and she looks a little wistful, almost sad. The artist went a little crazy with the rouge on this one, but she's still very pretty, and the detail in the portrait is quite nice. This one is a little bit bigger than the other that came in with it, and it has gold scallops around the edges, w the other is plain. This brooch measures 2 3/8" by 1 7/8". If you like this one, please take a look at the "sister" brooch in a separate listing. I really do think they have a connection. T IS NO RESERVE ON THIS AUCTION!!
