A VICTORIAN SAILORS SCRIMSHAW EXOTIC PALM NUT COQUILLA NUT SNUFF BOX 19TH C. This is for an antique Victorian sailors scrimshaw exotic palm nut coquilla nut snuff box, 19th century. Made of an exotic palm nut or coquilla nut, c arved in two halves, secured together by six pins, the lid has a brass hinge and a small brass twist and lock clasp. This is likely a piece of sailors scrimshaw made on the journey back from the colony's. The condition is generally excellent, without damage o repair, there are no splits, the nut has the patina age.
