Victorian Solid Sterling Silver Vesta Case Birmingham 1898 Description Please scroll down for additional pictures: Description: This is a delightful solid silver vesta / match case. The piece is in plain rectangular form and has a connecting ring at the top with which to attach to a watch chain. Assay marks for Birmingham 1898 with a makers mark for Turner & Simpson. Dimensions : The piece is approximately 4.3cm x 3.3cm and weighs 22g. Condition: The piece has obviously been well used with quite a few knocks and bumps dotted about commensurate with the piece being worn on a chain / carried in a pocket with loose change. These are most notably on the edges of the piece. Please see the detailed photographs. Antique and vintage silver has been around for a long time and as such will always show signs of it's age and use. Silver is soft and attracts surface scratching and age marks easily.
