Early Vietnam Era US Army M-1955Body Armor L. W. Foster Sportswear Co., Size: Large This is one nice M-1952A Fragmentation Vest, the one with the shoulder straps. First Photo - " 'Tunnel Rats' of the 56th Engineer Demolition T, 25th Inf. Div. display captured enemy equipment during Operation 'Wahiawa", May 1966. They wore M-56 equipment over M1952 Armor Vests and OD T-shirts. These early model vests were earlier modified, losing their shoulder and receiving an uncomfortable three-quarter collar. The central man has a white plastic C-ration spoon tucked in his equipment. A mixture of M-14 and M-16 rifles is evident; the captured weapon is the ChiCom Type 53 Carbine.
