is a very nice Vietnam era Pilot Survival knife with the rare "Sew In" sheath. The knife is the 5 inch version (actually a tad over 5 inches) and is in unused condition. The finish on the blade is all t with a few thin spots only from being pulled in and out of the sheath. The point of the blade is still needle sharp. The blade appears to only have been sharpened at the factory. T is no manufacturers mark on this knife either on the blade or on the pommel. One side of the hex pommel does appear flater than the other 5 sides and I assume that is w the makers name and date should be...they are not t . The finish though is consistent and so I don't believe that the makers mark was removed or if it was , it was done before the final finish was applied. I suspect that this knife was made by either Camillus or Ontario. The sheath for this knife is the rare one that was designed to be sewn to the Pilots survival vest. You don't see these very often and my recollection is that they were only made for a couple years... maybe late 60's or early 70's. This sheath is in very good condition . If you collect Pilot Survival knives, you'll like this one.
