This listing is for an original framed print that I believe to be an etching on silk. I have limited knowledge of art, but I try to do my homework as best I can, so please bear with my description. The piece is signed in pencil on the bottom and is titled "Vieux Paris." It is a Parisian Street scene, with a building in the foreground that has a sign on it that says "Josef Graf." When I did an internet search for etchings on silk, I quickly found that there was an Austrian artist in the mid-20th Century, H. Leisch, who did etchings on silk, of European buildings, in a similar style, and signed them in a similar way. The signature on this looks to me like W. Leisch, however, so I don't know if this was the same person, or perhaps a relative. There is something else written on the left side of the bottom, which looks to me like "Orig." something. I can't read the second word. The actual image measures 5 3/4" wide by 8 1/4" high, including the title and signature. The outside dimensions of the frame are 11 1/2" x 14 1/2". This is a vintage/antique print, which I believe is an etching. It is in good condition for its age. It is a bit yellowed from age, as is the matte. There is a small bubble where there is air between the silk it's printed on and the backing. The picture is framed, but is not currently securely in the frame, because read more
