GORGEOUS figure/ statue believed to be from a classic clock maker Ansonia, Welch???. This incredibly detailed piece most likely dates from the 1890s and depicts a seated roman or viking on an anvil holding a sword . He is dressed in Greco-Roman attire and has a coat of arms on the anvil . Ansonia and Welch were well known for detailed "statue clocks". This figure would have originally been attached to a base housing an elaborate mantle clock timepiece. T are four attachment holes on the under side anvil and foot. He has since lost his mate, but is an excellent decoration in his present aged bronze and metal condition. This statue has a deep grey patina and is in excellent condition, other than the need for a gentle cleaning. No cracks dents or flaws appears to be all intact. 10.5 inches high and 9.25 inches wide and 3.5 inches deep. Happy bidding No reserve. One Bidder thinks that the statue may be a Saxon Statue. The Saxon Statue was made for the KROEBER CLOCK FACTORY and is VERY RARE, Kroeber was in business for only a few years. Good luck to you all..
