This is a replica of the 10-11th century Anglo-Saxon-Norse knife called a Sax or Scramasax. Quality made of forged 1095 carbon steel with horn handle and iron fittings. Fine leather hand sewn sheath included. 13 1/2" overall, 8" blade. This is a hand forged knife. The tang is one piece and drawn out for strength, no welding. The knife has a working edge on it as is but could be sharpened better if you want. Sheath is set to be carried horizontally along the back. I am not as happy with the sheath as I am with the knife, it works but the hilt is heavy and wants to pull it down that direction. Concider that you are buying the knife and I am throwing in blade cover for free. Designed by SCA Master smith Tearlock the Profane and produced by Highland Arms. New, no problems.
