Unwanted wedding gift.Villeroy & Boch crystal glass decanter. 37cm high. Volume is 1 litre. Hand blown. Made of crystal glass. Designed for white wine. It is a clear, crystal decanter which allows you to see the wine at its best. The curved base of this crystal decanter allows other flavors to blossom within the wine, which some wine experts call allowing the wine to `breathe`, while the dome indentation in the middle is created to allow a smooth and easy pour. The base is designed with a narrrow, elegant neck and is crowned by a spherical hollow blown stopper. Many wine enthusiasts will not use a crystal decanter until the very day a vintage wine is due to be opened. A crystal decanter is not necessarily suited for long-term storage of wine, but rather as a receptacle for wine served during a dinner or other event. A newer wine intended for table use may benefit from the aeration created during decanting, while swirling the wine once poured into a proper glass will provide more aeration.
