Villeroy and Boch Oval Serving Platter Naif Design by Gerard Laplau Country Scene with Deer This auction is for a gorgeous platter in the Naif Design painted by Gerard Laplau for Villeroy & Boch. This lovely platter measures 15 and 3/4 inches long and features an old man and an old woman collecting firewood with two expressive deer and a number of trees and birds also in the landscape. The back of the platter says: Depuis 1748 Villeroy & Boch Ancienne Manufacture Imperiale et Royale Luxembourg Design Naif Vitro-Porcelain Garanti-lave-vaisselle Spulmaschinenfest Dishwasher safe This platter has clearly been used. It has light gray scuff marks on the inner rim and if the light hits it at a certain angle, you can see many utensil marks, scratching and other signs of use.
