*** TO EVERYONE .. .HAPPY HOLIDAYS! *** An ORIGINAL ONE SHEET POSTER from the 1969 American International Horror release....."The Oblong Box". I can still remember seeing this film at the Covina Drive-in theater with friends...all of us crammed into a station wagon eating cold frozen cardboard pizza and chili dogs from Wienerschnitzel. The theater is now a condo complex but the film goes on and brings back memories of better times! Vincent Price is Julian Markham. He's a 19th Century British aristocrat who lives in this countryside castle...far away from the villagers. He has a secret and that is his brother Sir Edward played grandly by Alistar Williamson. He is a bit crazy yes but he's also disfigured and a handfull for Vinny for sure. So he keeps Edward locked away in the castle's tower. Occasionally he escapes...that's a problem as he generally causes havoc. This film is the first pairing of two horror greats....Vincent Price and Hammer stallworth Christopher Lee. He plays Dr Newhartt. Their scenes together are limited but still this is a very entertaining flick. Kinda based on another Edgar Allan Poe story "Premature Burial" it's not the best Vincent Price Horror tale but far from the worst! Over the years this film has gained a bit of a following and from my own time a good memory of adolescence. This is an ORIGINAL ONE SHEET read more
