DESCRIPTION : This is a MAGNIFICENT sterling silver cuff bracelet that was handwrought in Taxco, Mexico, prior to 1948. This piece is made of 980 silver (sterling silver is 925) ~ most of the early Taxco silver jewelry was crafted out of higher grades of silver than sterling. It is masterfully crafted in a wonderful art deco style design ~ the repousse silverwork is truly magnificent ~ t are sterling silver demi sps and a multitude of sterling silver bead accents throughout the design ~ each bead was hand crafted and placed, one by one, on the bracelet ~ very labor intensive and requiring great artistry and skill. Please be sure to supersize the photos to fully appreciate the beauty and superb craftsmanship of this spectacular vintage piece. The silverwork is oxidized which highlights the designs beautifully. This type of cuff is referred to as a clamper cuff ~ it is a hinged design and the hinge is tight and functions perfectly. This is a classically elegant and timeless vintage bracelet ~ it is extremely well made and would be an asset to any vintage Taxco silver collection ~ a wonderful art-to-wear clamper cuff. SIZE: Inside circumference when closed is 7" but is adjustable to larger due to the design of this piece, width in front is 2-3/4", width in back is 1", and weight is 65 grams.
