4 - 8 1/8" SALAD/DESSERT PLATES - SHELLEY POTTERIES Up for auction are four 8 1/8" Diameter SALAD/DESSERT PLATES marked "FINE BONE CHINA SHELLEY ENGLAND" perhaps made between 1925 - 1940 by SHELLEY POTTERIES LTD , now part of the Royal Doulton Group. There are also some red numbers/letters markings. Do not know the name of the pattern, but it is a simple one that features a gilt scalloped edge, peach-colored border with a gilt floral motif and a central eight-pointed gilt design. As to condition, there is minor edge wear and scratches from normal use. Due to their elegant simplicity, they would make a lovely addition to your white/gold dinner service.
