Vintage 10-Gallon Wood Coca Cola Syrup Barrel 1915-30s Click on any photo to see a larger image .The red finish on this 10-gallon Coca Cola Syrup barrel is as good as you will find. The iron straps great looking too and the barrel is sound and sturdy. It has the original side plug. And the barrel is numbered on the side (C110323) below the plug. Too bad so much of the paper label is missing (estimated about 50%). These were used from about 1915 into the 1930s, our research finds.The barrel is marked 10 gallons on the label and you can see that interesting content label including "coca leaves (with cocaine removed)". SIZE: 10 GALLON. 21" tall x about 15" diameter (12-1/2") at end. WEIGHT: A little more than 15 pounds. CONDITION: Quite good for its age. It has the original red stained finish. The iron straps show great patina and tight wrap. About 50% of the paper label is still t The side plug is t T is one open tap hole and a second one plugged on the label end, with a tiny hole next to it that has a raised plug (its slightly smaller than the thickness of a pencil.) Not sure why t were two tap-size holes, but perhaps it was fitted with a different tap at one time. This makes it an interesting variation.
