Vintage 1880s Children's ABC Book Antique Victorian Ill For Sale today: One antique Pictorial ABC Children's book dating from the 1880s. This pictorial Alphabet Edition by Lippincott has a full page Illustration for each letter. The author is indicated as Cousin Daisy.All in all 24 full page illustrations and the title page illustration. The book mesaures appr. 7 5/8 wide by 9 1/2 inches high. The Publisher is J.B. Lippincott & Co, Philadelphia, no publishing date is indicated. The front blank page has an ink inscription that reads:"Dolores Rangel for good behavior, June 26, 1886 - Louisa Williamson" The front cover is in very good clean condition. The top right cover is missing a small piece, not affecting the image. The rear cover is mostly clean, a few small browning/soiling spots. The Spine is in good condition, minor rubbing wear. The binding holds together well, the lower third a little weak but good. The interior is very clean. T are no write-ins as is common with so many ABC books, no torn pages, no browning spots. Additionally:T is an inlaid school slip from San Gabriel California Public School for Dolores Rangel, when she passed from 7th to 8th grade in 1893. With it is a Parent/Guardian slip to sign.
