Vintage 1890's California Artificial Limb Co. Catalog Description: An 1890's historical medical catalog advertising The Chicago and San Francisco, Artificial Limb Company Catalog - Brochure. This is a 8 page catalog that measures 10 1/8 " x 6 1/2 inches (length x width) The catalog was produced by the C.W. Nevin & Co., Printers and Engravers, 532 Commercial St. , San Francisco, Cal. This catalog announces the consolidation with Menzo Spring, No. 9 Geary St. the Only Artificial Limbs in San Francisco . Catalog is excellent for historical, medical or social research. The Company advertise: " Limbs are furnished on Government Orders". It is likely that many Civil War Veterans utilized thee products from this catalog. Early industrial 'accidents' claimed many workers limbs including railroad, manufacturing, and saw mill operations. Catalog is suitable for framing. The catalog was among other paper items dating from the late 1870's through 1890's. Please view other paper items offered. Condition: Nice clean advertisement, the catalog was folded into thirds for mailing. T are edge wears along folds Front cover and back has a spine tear, but paper remains joined.
