Vintage 1920’s advertising tins FLORMAN’S CLEANER & RONUK BALLROOM POWDER . Both are in very nice condition still with contents. THE FLORMAN’S TIN: The paper label is very striking and on the front reads ‘FLORMAN’S PERFECT CLEANER, FOR CLEANING PAINTED, VARNISHED AND ENAMEL SURFACES. LINOLEUM, OIL CLOTH, TILE, MARBLE, DAIRY UTENSILS, DISHES, GLASSWARE, WASH BOWLS, SINKS, BATHTUBS, ICE BOX, AND FOR THE LAUNDRY. WILL NOT HARM THE FINEST FABRIC. WILL NOT INJURE HANDS, MADE BY THE FLORMAN MFG. CO. PUEBLO, COLO’. There is a lovely full colour image of a Red Indian Chief on one side with the words ‘STRENGTH & DURABILITY, CONTENTS’. On the back is a panel of Directions for use amazingly saying that it can be used for cleaning varnished and enamel surfaces and for bathing in as well. It is unopened and on the lid it reads ‘PAT’D 5-14-07, TO OPEN PUNCH IN HOLES’. It measures 3” diameter by 5 1/4” high. THE RONUK TIN: Printed in green and gold on tin. The front and back of the tin read ‘RONUK BALLROOM POWDER, FOR SPRINKLING ON FLOORS TO PRODUCE A DANCING SURFACE’. The two side panels have a royal coat of arms and read ‘BY APPOINTMENT TO H.M. THE KING, RONUK LTD., SANITARY POLISH MANUFACTURERS, PORTSLADE, ENGLAND, ASK FOR COLRON WOOD DYES PENETRATING, PERMANENT, PRESERVATIVE’. It measures 2 3/4” diameter by 4” high.
