Vintage 1930s chrome/bakeliteBurton dental light works! Old 1930 or 1940s (the patent date on the chrome light probes is 1934) vintage retractable dental or medical equipment light with a bakelite housing, rayon wrapped cord and chrome light probes. It works. It is marked "Burton Mfg - Chicago USA". T are two separate large round plugs marked "Power Governors" that plug into a standard wall socket and then the light plugs into that with a small, two round pin plug. We've tested both of these and they both work. The straight, blue lens, light works and the white lens light with the 90 deg head. doesn't (we're not sure what it would take to fix it).The cord from the reel to the plug is about 6 feet. The extendable cord is about 5 1/2 feet. The brightness control that holds the chrome probes unplugs from the cord. It is missing the threaded clamping collar, but still works.T are no cracks to the bakelite, just a couple of little chips at the edge of the tool socket.
