Vintage 1930's Chef Boyardee or Chef Pierre Chalkware String Holder. The string comes out of the chef's mouth to make it look as if he is eating spaghetti.The string holder measures 7 1/2" high, 5 1/2" wide and it extends 3" from the wall. There is a wire hanger at the top that is molded into the piece.This chef string holder has some paint loss on the face, scuff on nose, a chip and tight hairline at the bottom (see photos). Not unusual for a piece of 80+ year old chalkware. This string holder can be found on page 46 of "String Along with Me: A Collector's Guide to Stringholders with Prices" by Sharon Ray Jacobs.Please see all pictures for details.
