A lovely pure silk genuine vintage shawl. Dating from 1930s this pretty shawl has embroidered hollyhock flowers in one corner and a long silk fringe. These are called piano shawls because often they were draped over a piano or sofa as display pieces - but of course can also be worn as a shawl or wrap. This shawl is very pale yellow pure silk fabric with a golden yellow hand knotted silk fringe. A large square shape with embroidered flowers in one corner in lilac and blue , red and pink, yellow and green silk thread. A generous size this shawl will fit most people and can be wrapped around as you wish or just draped over the shoulders. Will look fabulous for a wedding or any vintage fashion event. SIZE - will fit most people. Measures 46 inches square with a fringe all round of 18 inches. Condition - very good wearable condition. There are three tiny spot marks on the silk - shown on photo7 - nothing serious and do not show when the shawl is worn. The silk is strong and not split or thin and no holes.
