Here we have a ~ VINTAGE 1937 CONN 6M VIII PROFESSIONAL ALTO SAXOPHONE ~ that was recently acquired out of an estate. The serial number is 278857 which looks like that dates it to the year 1937. We believe it is in the original Conn tweed case?. We don't play so we can't test it. Selling as found, as we're not sure what it may, or may not need to get in tip top playing condition. It looks like it was possibly re-lacquered?? as the finish is still quite bright is the only reason we though possibly done. The engraving is still nice and detailed as you can see and the finish is nice. The horn is really a beautiful Vintage instrument as you can see. The main thing to mention is that there is a dent near the bottom elbow area - see picture #4. Other than that, the horn looks to be in very well preserved condition to us. It looks like it may have been serviced fairly recently, but we're not positive? The case does show some wear and tear from age and use. All in all, this looks like a very nice horn from the golden age of the Conn 6M VIII professional model era.
