Up for auction is a Vintage 1939 EMERSON “Emersonette” (Midget) 2 -Tube Radio, model CF-255 in the rare Plaskon Pistachio GREEN . This is a NO RESERVE auction. This classic, midget radio, that has seen better days , measures only 4.75” x 6.5” x 3.5”. Radio powers up, hums slightly, but does not receive any stations. I don’t believe the volume and tuning knobs are original to the radio, but I believe everything else is except the plug on the cloth covered power cord. I believe all inner workings are original, speaker and wiring etc. I have never had the chassis out of the cabinet. Case Condition: Pictures should show it pretty well, case has some nasty hairline cracks from top and side right corner to back, left side too, and a burn mark in the top back. I acquired this radio about 15 years ago, and at the time, found some green tape that matched the green case color, to help hide some of the flaws. There is also a chip missing from the center – left grill bar (under some tape… look close!). Neat 72 year old Emerson radio has always displayed well, and would make a great addition, or supplement to someone’s collection. Please email any questions. Item sold “as is”.
