Vintage 1940's Imperial 'The Good Companion' portable typewriter in black case with working catch but no key. It is made in Leicester and a s you can see in the pictures the typewriter is in very good condition for its age. I have tried all the various levers etc and they all work very smoothly. I have done some typing on it and you don't have to bash the keys to make them work on both red and black ink. The only fault i've found is that the +* key is bent(photo 7) and this makes this key stick and the one next to it 1/8 3/8. The case is in nice condition with the odd mark or two but nothing to spoil its appearance and also has its original brush. This is such a great looking typewriter it must be one for the collector.
