Up for auction is a wonderful set of vintage, art deco bookends by ROOKWOOD POTTERY. They are designed in the Raven, or 'Rook' motif, style #2275, and feature an overall green wash finish that is quite lovely. Each piece bears the ROOKWOOD symbol, with the year 1945 in Roman Numerals and the style number 2275. The set also has the cypher of the artist, William McDonald (hard to capture on my camera). The bookends measure 5 1/2" tall x 5 1/4" deep x 3 1/4" wide. They are in very good condition for their age, with no chips, cracks or stains. One has more crazing than the other. This set has a nice substantial weight to it...perfect for bookends. Don't miss this fabulous set! Available USA only; no international please.
