This vintage 1948 Colonial Airline badge measures 3 1/4 inches in width. It is stamped on the back. 1/10 10k G Filled.This badge belonged to my wife's father who was with Transcontinental & Western Air in the 30's. He then went with Colonial Airlines before they merged with another and became Eastern Airlines. He was flying for Eastern Airlines when he was killed flying into N.Y in the early 60's. This treasure along with a rare Transcontinental & Western Air badge and a TWA badge are now being offered for sale. One photo shows the date in pencil of 4/48 which I assume is the date of my father-in-law's first flight as pilot for Colonial Airlines.
