Offered forsale is an original porcelain TEXACO sign. This item was purchased by me for my collection approximately thirty-five years ago. It is the real deal- I can assure you that it is not a reproduction. It is marked âeoeMADE IN U.S.A.âe and dated âeoe10-8-48âe in the bottom center of the sign. This item measures 8-9/16âe in diameter. The red, black, green and white porcelain displays a very high level of gloss. This item is in excellent overall condition, and the overall graphic presentation is great. As depicted in the photos, t are three very small chips in the outer black porcelain band- one at the two oâe(tm)clock position and two at the five oâe(tm)clock position. Other than those chips, this sign is in pristine condition. T are two brass mounting hole grommets, both of which appear to be unused. Given its condition, it is possible that this could be a New Old Stock (NOS- unused) sign. A similar sign, in equivalent condition, just sold on Ebay for $250.00. See Item # 220221195029 under completed items in âeoeadvanced searchâe. This item displays really well, and it will make a great addition to any porcelain sign or petrolania collection. I am confident that you will be pleased with it. It will be carefully wrapped to protect it while it is enroute to you, and it will be sent via Priority Mail, insured for the full value. You will be charged actual shipping costs, without any handling fees. Please bid only if you intend to complete the transaction. I accept both Paypal and money orders. Please contact me with any questions, and be sure to check my other items that are currently listed. Thank you for your interest and good luck on your bid. DISREGARD SHIPPING AMOUNT SHOWN BELOWI'm not sure what happened with the shipping calculator on this listing. I entered $8.95 (and that is what the listing shows when I read it) in the shipping section of the listing, and that is what the total charge will be for shipping (UPS Priority Mail Flat Rate Box, unless your location is less, which is what you will then be charged), plus insurance based on the final selling price. It appears as if we have a "ghost in the machine" on this one.... Thanks to an observant Ebayer for pointing this out to me. With a day left to go, this sign has had 209 visits, 4 active bidders and currently has 16 people watching it. Bidding might get a little crazy at the end, and then, of course, t are the bid snipers.... If you want this sign, you should bid it to win it; otherwise, disappointment has a nasty habit of creeping up at the last moment.
