Vintage April 21 1948 Weinhagen & Hespe, Inc. New York fever thermometer. Box reads "Certified Fever Thermometer Guaranteed Accurate". It also has the company trademark and reads "Registered Trademark June 24 1884". "Made in U.S.A." Inside the box is the Certificate of Test and Guarantee. The test date is stamped on APR 21 1948. The back side has Directions on how to take temperature, how to shake down thermometer and some notes on rectal vs oral readings. The thermometer itself reads "Weinhagen Physicians Oral 4818K". The holder is missing the top if it had one. There is a crack in the bottom portion and the brass pocket holder is tarnished but you can still see the words "Weinhagen & Hespe New York" engraved in the brass. The box lid is missing a portion of one end.
