DESCRIPTION: This is an old toy robot that is marked ”Made In Japan” on the battery box. It was probably made in the 1950’s or early 1960’s. When working properly, it features walking forward, stops, opens chest while firing light up guns, and rotates. MATERIALS: Mostly tin with some plastic parts such as the visor, battery box interior, and guns. DIMENSIONS: Measures about 11 inches tall. CONDITION: This is a decent looking 50 year old toy robot. Unfortunately, batteries were left inside it for many of those years, and they leaked ruining the battery box, its door, and some rear parts of the robot. So, if you just want a nice looking robot to display on your shelf, and do not care if it works, then this will be a great buy. Or, if you restore old toy robots, this will be a good candidate to restore, or use for parts. Obviously, it is being sold AS-IS, and does not work. One of the battery contacts has been eaten away, and the remaining ones are in poor condition. This robot/astronaut displays nicely, and will look good on your shelf.
