Ihave been an avid, serious collector of Vintage Bears and Animals forover 50 years, and my mother before me. I have gradually built up a huge private collection over those years consisting of the most immaculate quality specimens. I have been a bear artist myself for some 20 years, and have sold vintage bears etc at numerous Bear Fairs throughout the UK. I have also developed my own unique way of cleaning vintage bears which I have offered as a service to other collectors...so you can be totally reassured that any vintage item purchased from me is 100% safe to introduce into your own collection, without any concerns...and for those of you with highly valuable vintage collections, you will realise the importance of this factor. All my items are immaculate. Most have been with me since new or passed down through my family and only ever been on display. I am currently "downsizing" and this has to now include severely pruning my vast bear collection! Up for adoption is this immaculate Vintage Merrythought Golly from 1950/60s. He stands around 15" tall, so is a good size item to add to your vintage collection. I am offering two Merrythought Gollies...the other is on another listing. This Golly has a blue tailed ringmaster type of jacket with yellow lapels. His cotton trousers are multi-striped in red/blue/yellow/white. He wears Velvet imitation shoes with side button white and black spats. You'll find all his Merrythought labels still stitched into his trouser seam. He has an amazingly sweet Golly face in black velvet material, having a black velvet nose, red outlined smiling mouth and googly black/white eyes. His head is thickly covered with black plush piled fur, being about 1" long. He has no holes, no repairs, no stains, having only been on display in my home since new...so I guarantee his cleanliness 100% genuine and safe to introduce into any collection without fears! No odours, only sweetness! He stands nice and erect, no floppiness, as he had been always in a standing position, but can also sit if needed to.
