Vintage English Tin from the W & R Jacob & Co Biscuit Manufacture By Appointment to Her Majesty The Queen. � Circa 1950's The Quality is as seen in the photos This vintage Mughal Horseman tin will hold love letters, keep special mementos or serve a practical storage use for bracelets or receipts, what ever you decide will be safe and hidden from sight. The colors are turquoise, and cream almost a pale yellow with touches of green, yellow, orange, and white, all accented with metallic gold. The center depicts a Horseman on a white horse with trees, flowers and clouds. The Illustration is done in the Mughal style of Miniature Paintings. The overall pattern of this tin is Indo- Persian in design and probably was chosen to reflect The Indian/ Mughal Culture during British Rule In India from 1858-1947, because after all this is a tin that held English Biscuits. This vintage tin is shabby chic rusty and full of character there is visible wear to some of the designs but this really just adds to its shabby chic appeal.. Set it on a bookshelf and add some interest to your books.The tin is approximately 8 inches diameter and 2 3/8 inches deep. The Jacob Biscuit Co. has been around since 1883.
