Vintage REPS R40 reel to reel tape transcriptor (I believe that is it's correct title), made by REPS tape recorders LTD, 118 Park Road, North Acton London W3 dating from around the 1950's. It has a Collaro deck. I plugged it in and the red light lights up, the reels go round and speed changes, cannot hear any sound though, I am unsure about this type of item so cannot be sure it would work but it certainly works to a point. Condition-wise the actual deck looks to be in very good clean condition as can be seen in the photographs, the case is fairly good some scuffing and discolouring, the metal mesh is good, rusting to metal catches and other outer parts. The microphone has a broken body. Apart from the reels going round it is untested as mentioned earlier so for spare/repair and please get the electrics checked out by a qualified electrician .
