Vintage Comoy's Briar Pipe Description: 's a nice vintage Comoy's briar pipe! This pipe is marked "Comoy's Golden Matt, 603, Made in London England, L" Nomenclature is consistent with Comoy's pipes of the 1960s. Nice full bent sitter shape, nearly a Oom Paul. Pipe is just out of an estate and in used condition. Has been cleaned and treated with Bee pipe sweetener, but the bit is very discolored so it won't win any beauty contests without further clean-up. But as a smoker, it's ready to go! I just got in a large collection of pipes from the 1940s-1960s. Most are good English briars, all have been cleaned with the user in mind and are not show-pieces -- for example, when I clean a bowl I leave a layer of carbon 'cake' so the bowl won't have to be broken in again.
