I am pleased to present to you a very nice JC Penney Foremost. This bicycle was produced by Murray, the same folks that brought you the Flightliner and Sears Spaceliner. It is without a doubt, rarest of the three. I have never seen another one on ebay and perhaps your experience has been the same. This swooping design utilizing a chrome frame, with integrated carrier and tank with light and horn, combine style, elegance, and cool like no other adult 26" bicycle. The serial number is M05.74X24800664. I believe it was manufactured in the 1960's. I have seen only red ones and perhaps this one may have been red at one time as I have not seen another blue one with a men's frame. The blue paint on the side of the forks, fork crown, tank, chainguard and carrier is not original paint but looks great and is free of scratches. The silver on the headlight bezel, switch bezel, sprocket cap, and rear reflector housing has been repainted. The horn and light are functional. The chrome on the frame gleams with high luster. The fenders and wheel bands display nicely, however they appear to have been cleaned with steel wool. The wheel bands do have areas of missing chrome, please look at the pictures carefully. The original pedals have one red dot missing on the left pedal and two red dots missing on the right pedal. The original seat has two 1/4" tears near the nose of the seat. The chrome seat crash bar is in nice shape. The stem is in very nice shape. The handlebars have some oxidation on them however they do display nicely. The grips are in nice shape. The wheels spin with ease as they were designed to. The 26 X 1.75" whitewall tires are original and State "Penneys" in the 1960's font that their stores used, and "FOREMOST CUSTOM" . The tubes hold air well. The rear carrier has strong spring action. The red rear light lens and battery housing exist. The rear bulb and bulb socket are missing. The rear coaster brake is a "Bendix RB 2 with U.S.A. Pat. Pend." The FOREMOST headbadge decal is in great shape. The chain is immaculate. The blue housing on the AJAY speedometer matches the rest of the bike. The speedometer functions well. I have done my best to indicate the highlights and imperfections of this bicycle through the attached high resolution photos. The only thing the future owner of this bicycle needs to do is display it, or get on it, smile and enjoy the envy of others. As is always the case for my auctions, my intent is not to make money on shipping and postage but rather state the costs that I am faced with for shipping. Postage rate applies to the continental 48 United States. I will only ship this bicycle within the 48 continental United States. Free local pick-up is also possible. In order to ship this bicycle I will need to send it in two large boxes. I will minimize the amount of re-assembly for you, however please realize that I will need to remove the wheels, fenders, seats, pedals, handlebars and forks. Rest assured, everything will be carefully packaged and protected in order to prevent damage. I believe the pictures tell the rest of the story. My ebay feedback should give you a good indication of the type of seller I am. Many other sellers would likely not even find the imperfections that I point out worth mentioning, but I do so in order that you experience absolutely no unpleasant surprises.
