Vintage 1961 Gretsch Chet Atkins electric guitar. Serial number 45928. Serial number is impressed on top edge of pegboard. This was my father’s guitar that he played in his band in the early 1960’s. It’s a beautiful deep orange in color and is in great condition for its age. The tuners have been replaced and the pad is missing from the back. The rest looks original. I don’t know much about old Gretsch guitars, so please see the photos for more information and contact me with any questions. I’ll do my best to answer them. This guitar also has its original case that it was kept in most of the time (probably why it’s all faded in color). Ooops - that last sentence should read that it's NOT all faded in color! It's a nice, deep orange with little fading. I debated about whether it's a 6120 or a Country Gentleman (because of the double cutaways). There is no label inside that I can see. The f-holes are open - not just colored in as in some models. I was just going over the guitar again and found a small issue on the neck. It looks like a small piece of the wood splintered off at some point and we repaired. I've included a close up photo of the spot. I don't have an amp right now to plug the guitar into, so I can't comment on sound. I just went through the guitar case and found the original tuners in a bag with their screws! They will read more
