An unusual old, 5" tall, figural pottery mug, with a cartoonish donkey head protruding from the front, with DEMOCRAT on one side and USA on the other- marked on the bottom c RUMPH,1971, with the trademark RUMPH open hand- attached inside is a bound & gagged Republican Elephant- a teal/green glaze inside and a clear glaze on the body of the mug & handle; the donkey head has a matte finish- no chips or cracks; just some firing imperfections [what may look like cracks on the bottom are firing marks]- please see the companion REPUBLICAN and RICHARD NIXON Rumph mugs that I also have listed, as well as a few other hard to find RUMPH pieces, all from the same collection.
