THIS IS A VINTAGE 1974 JOHN & YOKO LET THEM STAY IN USA BEATLES PINBACK BUTTON This button is 1 3/4", original and in excellent condition Has original pin on back On edge of button is printed: I&U 1974 Rare Great Display Item In 1972 the Nixon Administration began deportation proceedings against John Lennon and Yoko Ono, claiming they had been admitted to the country in violation of then-existing immigration law. Lennon and Ono argued that the deportation order was a politically-motivated effort to silence them as critics of the war in Vietnam. The "National Committee for John and Yoko" and the "Committee for Artistic Freedom" organized people to write the INS with the message, "let them stay in the USA.
