Up for auction is an adorable Fisher Price doll from the "My Friend" series. This sweetie is " MY FRIEND JENNY " and she is 16" tall and looks brand new, like she has never been played with. Jenny is marked 1978 (on the back of her neck) but the box is marked 1982. She is made of vinyl (head and limbs) with a stuffed cotton covered body. She is marked "23088 FISHER-PRICE-TOYS 1978" on the back of her head, but has a cloth tag attached to her upper back that has the date of 1982, which matches the date on her original box. She is approx. 16" tall and weighs just under 2 pounds in her original box. Jenny has dark brown, shiny rooted hair and pretty painted on facial features - big brown eyes, smiling peachy pink mouth, and rosy cheeks. She is in excellent, like-new condition and comes dressed in her original dress and shoes which are also in excellent condition. Her original box (damaged at the top and in a few other places) and her original "Caring for My Friend Dolls" booklet are both included. As stated above, Jenny is in excellent condition and looks like she has never been played with. She is clean and free of any damage. Her rooted saran (?) or Dynel hair is shiny, clean, and in excellent condition. I don't think it has ever been combed and looks perfect. Her big, brown painted eyes are so expressive and pretty and she has a sweet little smiling pink-peach colored mouth. Eyebrows are dark and perfect looking. Her complexion is flawless with pretty rosy, blushed cheeks. She shows no play wear. This sweetie would make a great addition to your vintage Baby Doll or Fisher Price My Friends collection. Jenny is jointed at her hips and neck. She can sit or stand on her own. Her arms, although not actually jointed, are flexible and can move around to pose well. Her body is also flexible so that she can bend at the waist. Her vinyl limbs are clean with no damage and no soiling. Her body is stuffed tightly and covered in a pretty cotton fabric with a print of yellow rosebuds on a white background. The covering is nice and clean and looks like brand new. Jenny has great overall coloring that is uniformly even throughout the head and limbs. Jenny is dressed in her original yellow and white gingham dress with white bodice and puffy short sleeves. I see no stains, holes, tears, etc. It is a very pretty dress. Her white vinyl slip-on shoes are original and look great. I see a very slight scuffing on the back soles just below the heels but that is being very picky. This little girl has no unpleasant odors. We are a smoke-free, pet-free home. I know whoever takes this Little Girl home will absolutely fall in love with her sweet looks. For a 32 to 36 year-old girl she looks like she just came off the assembly line. An awesome doll! Any props (doll stands, stuffed animals, chairs, and toys) are not included. I have tried to describe her to the best of my abilities but I am not a doll expert, just a doll lover.
