This is a wonderful 23" plush animated cassette player that was manufactured by View Master / Ideal Inc. in 1986. When one of the Big Bird Story Magic tapes in inserted in the cassette player under his tail feather flap, he reads the accompanying story book as his mouth opens & closes. His beak & legs are soft plastic. His eyes are hard plastic & the eyelids are supposed to blink, but I'm not sure if the batteries (he operates on 4 AA batteries) that I'm using are charged enough, or if the eyes are not functioning. His hard body is covered in plush yellow fur that has no matting. There are two small stains on his tail feather flap & his fur is dingy from years of storage, that I think a good cleaning would take care of. Big Bird comes with: Five Story Books with accompanying tapes: ~ I Want To Go Home! ~ Big Bird & Little Bird's Big & Little Book ~ Big Bird's Day On The Farm ~ Big Bird Can Share ~ The Sesame Street Players Present Mother Goose The first three are in the original boxes & packing sleeves, the last two only have the packing sleeve. The thin plastic sleeves do show signs of wear - rips, tears, etc. Also includes one book (missing it's tape) "I Think That Is Wonderful" and the original paperwork for Big Bird.
